The two transport approaches suit different estates. MPLS provides a private core with predictable latency and contracted performance, which suits latency-sensitive applications and stable site footprints. SD-WAN applies policy-driven path selection across mixed transport, allowing cheaper links to be blended without losing central control — better suited to higher site counts with variable requirements.

blueAPACHE commits to a minimum 99.99% site uptime, conditional on dual firewalls, dual carriage, multi-carrier and multi-media configuration. That condition matters: not every site can economically meet it, and blueAPACHE states this at design stage rather than after an outage. A provider quoting a site uptime figure without naming its preconditions is quoting an aspiration.
